Vodka Review: Wodka Vodka

Wodka Vodka Review – Initial Impressions:

Wodka Vodka is probably one of the crazier and wackier vodkas I’ve ever reviewed. If you haven’t heard of them, they are the company that has been in the news before multiple times for their “politically incorrect” billboards. There most recent billboard ran the slogan “Escort Quality, Hooker Prices“. As you can imagine, some of the Bronx residents that lived where the billboard displayed weren’t thrilled.

Personally, I think it’s hilarious. I always admire company’s willing to walk the line all for the sake of comedy. Plus it really does help to convey their message. Distilled in Poland, Wodka Vodka prides itself on being a premium vodka, at a fraction of the price. Since when did high quality vodka require charging $30 per bottle? That’s exactly the point wodka vodka brings to the consumer as they bring clean, high quality vodka at an affordable price. Let’s take a look at the shot, and see how smooth Wodka Vodka is!

Wodka Vodka Review -The Shot:

My goal is to record myself take a shot of every vodka brand that I review. Why? Well, nothing describes the pain/joy of taking a shot more than looking at a persons face while he does it! So before I describe the shot, go ahead and press play to observe my immediate reaction.

Wodka Vodka has definitely surprised me in this one. First off, the shot was very smooth and rich. The crisp clean vodka slides down the throat very easily. This vodka is made with rye, which as quite a distinct flavor to it. In the past, I haven’t had the greatest experience with these types of vodkas. Wodka Vodka, however, gives the vodka just enough flavor while abstaining from too much bitterness.

There was no vodka back draft of the burn coming back up from down my throat. I didn’t feel any fumes in my nose at all. I was very happy with the shot. I realize that this is only a $10 bottle of vodka from Poland, but it definitely can compete with some top marketing name brands I’ve tried. It definitely beats anything else in it’s price range.

Shot Rating: 9/10

Wodka Vodka Review -The Mixed Drink:

Wodka Vodka

For this Wodka Vodka Review, I chose to make a Vodka Cran. I like to keep my Vodka Mixed Drinks and Vodka Cocktails simple when doing reviews.

Wodka Vodka is definitely an interesting vodka for a mixed drink. I must repeat the fact that this vodka is made from rye. This grain has quite a distinct flavor and will definitely offer up a deeper flavor profile in the drink. I believe people will be split on whether they want to add such a grain into their juices and mixers. Personally, I found my vodka cran pleasant and a change of pace.

I would suggest that this be used more for martini making. With just a splash of vermouth to help balance out these deep resonant notes, this vodka could make a great bar stock for those who enjoy martinis regularly. I think most people will enjoy this different flavor profile in a vodka and should definitely give it a try.

Mixed Drink Rating: 8/10

Wodka Vodka Review -Final Thoughts:

Wodka Vodka was definitely a fun experience.  From looking up the company on the internet and seeing their hilarious ads to actually tasting the quality of the vodka itself. Wodka Vodka has definitely figured something out. Priding itself on quality while still remaining affordable is at the heart of their product and I must say that they succeed.

The shot was smooth, clean, and left me without any harshness or bitterness in my mouth. There was a mild burn (as with all vodka) but it didn’t overpower you. The mixed drink was enjoyable with the rich rye flavors left to assimilate with the mixers. Rye has a strong flavor of it’s own, and may not agree with everyone. However, Wodka Vodka deserves to change your opinion on this with it’s deep comforting rye notes.

At a value of $10, Wodka Vodka has shown the world that you don’t have to charge outrageous prices to have a quality product. I would definitely recommend that everyone try them out.

Overall Rating: 9/10

Vodka Review: Sebian Elitna Vodka

It's always interesting to see other country's take on something that should be so simple. Vodka at it's most basic level should be clean, smooth, and flavorless. While that seems very straightforward, many different company's have their own ways of ensuring these qualities. Elitna Vodka from the Sebian Vodka collection is made in Ukraine and has chosen to target the ever so tasteful french demographic with their high quality vodka (they are coming to Switzerland soon, but at the time of this article, you can only find it in France). Sebian boasts that their vodka is made from wheat in a process of rectification which puts it in “class Lux”. Imagine distilling alcohol to the maximum possible limit that is thermodynamically possible, and you are left with what Elitna Vodka uses.

  1. I tried it both at room temperature and fresh out of the freezer. I tried it neat and in martinis.
I don’t like the smell nor the taste.
I personally would stay away from it.
It has all the qualities of a cheap spirit – smells of rubbing alcohol and gave me a major headache. Label does not state distillation process or number. Although cheap, will definitely not buy again. For a few $ more you could buy a quality 3x or more distilled vodka.

My rating: * out of *****

    • That’s very interesting. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe you just don’t like vodka distilled from rye. I suggest you try Sobieski Vodka (another good solid brand made from rye) and if you don’t like that either, maybe you just don’t like rye vodka.

enjoyed it. Great vodka for the price. Infact, my
dirty martini was only $6 versus my typical glass

  3. I’d love to try it, and applaud the ballsiness of the ads. Though, I cringe at the pronunciation. It’s “Wódka”, pronounced like “Voodka”, in English. As a Polish speaker, I just feel like I need to just bring it up. Otherwise, great review, and I’d totally want to try it.

  5. Being a Russian, I am always on a look out for other vodka “suspects” contending with my homeland’s spirits.
Today I tried “Wodka” vodka and I must admit, this rye vodka is top notch quality, much better than Stoli, Sobieski, Finlandia and many others I’ve sampled in comparable price range.
I must give my compliments to master distillers at Wodka Vodka – it is very good indeed.
